Let me explain…

Charity begins at home

There are plenty of people out there doing in tough.  Good people.  Hard working people. Honest people who are down on their luck.  This where I love to give.  And even though I do donate to overseas charities, I love helping locally and helping out local people. I Urge you, if you have ever thought to donate in way at all, please try it. There are so many ways you can make a difference and change someone’s live forever. Read the variety of charity work we love and you’ll see the many paths you can choice.

And look, giving isn’t just money either.  you can give your time, your advice, even your ear.  It doesn’t matter.  But something weird and wonderful happens when you open your heart and just give.  I’m a big believer in giving and I know without a shadow of a doubt the more I give, the more I receive.  It’s that simple.

“I wanted to do something on a personal level and for me this was the way to go. I love bringing the community together and for me I love to volunteer.”

Last year we took up the challenge to collect as many shoe boxes for Love and Lipstick.  Our clinic was a nominated  the Adelaide drop off destination.  Meet so many generous people along the way, which was so much fun.

We donated to Bonnie Stewart for her city to bay walk to raise funds.

The campaign ‘With Love and Lipstick’ was launched on August 1. Bonnie made it her mission to donate more than 100 ‘Boxes of Love’, containing beauty items such as lip gloss, nail polish, magazines and body wash by November 25 – White Ribbon Day.

To achieve this, Bonnie asked for Adelaide locals to generously. All of the items collected were donated to the Central Domestic Violence Service of who run 2 shelters in Adelaide.

“The numbers associated with violence towards women are huge – in the last financial year there were 960 Women and 645 Children sheltered in just two of the six shelters in Adelaide,” Bonnie said.

“To be able to donate over 100 Boxes of Love would be just a little gesture to these women.” Bonnie strongly believes that women and children have the right to live in a safe environment.

Neighbour Watch is an association I have worked with and in,  for 25 years.  25 years ago I was a single mum with 2 young  children, with no spare money but I looked for a way to give back to make our community to make it a safer place.  If I wasn’t involved in the admin of our local neighbour watch, my children and I would delivery the newsletters.  I wanted to give my children an education on to how communities can become better places and how they can participate.  I would take the children to the meetings with me, as I no babysitters and they loved it.  From there they developed an interest in council meetings etc to care and participate in their community.

Our pet overseas charity, which we have been involved in for 5 yrs is World Vision. We have a beautiful , boy, Hasani, who is 9 yrs old now.  He lives in Africa.  We love writing letters to Hasani and  receiving his  letters. We will continue our support till he completes his education. It’s exciting knowing the difference you can make in a child’s life and watching his progress.  Look how he’s grown.img082

Here at Innovative Body & Skin Rejuvenating Solutions, we like to mix it up a bit.  We donate time, tins of food and shredded  paper, recycled from our  office and homes,  to The Furry Friends, animal rescue and adoption. It’s wonderful therapy to play with the  animals.furry ones
