Learning how to shape eyebrows is a must in women. With perfectly shaped eyebrows, women would find themselves enhancing the eyes and completely altering their appearance. However, this process usually necessitates steady hands, a keen eye and a good technique. After all, when shaped incorrectly, the eyebrows could have as much effect as a bad haircut. It is important to note that when it comes to eyebrows, women can only work with the one they already have. Penciling in a darker shade or perhaps plucking out more hair to thin it out would usually be done at the end of the process where the shape is already well defined. That being said, following are some tips for women on how to shape eyebrows.
What You Need:
White Eyeliner Pencil
One chopstick or any long and straight object
Make sure to be facing the mirror throughout the steps. Clean the face off with mild soap, water or cleansers before starting. The chopsticks would be used to determine specific points of the eyebrow for shaping. Place one end of the chopstick at the edge of the left nostril, allowing it to move upwards to the forehead. It should pass the edge of the left eyebrow along the way. You can use the white pencil to mark the spot where the chopstick and the eyebrow meet. You can do the same thing with the right eyebrow.
For the second step, the chopstick would be simply angled out to touch another part of the eyebrow. The usual angle is around 45 degrees but this varies from one individual to another. The rule of thumb though is that one end of the chopstick should be touching the edge of the nostril at angle, bypassing the edge of the iris. In order to do this correctly, you should be looking directly at the mirror. Mark the point where the chopstick and eyebrow meets with the white pencil. Do this for both eyebrows.
Still using the edge of the nose as a base point, angle the chopstick towards the outermost part of the eyebrow while passing by the outermost edge of your eye. Once again, mark this point using the white pencil.
During the last, you will basically connect the dots using straight lines with the help of the white pencil. This would be the basic outline of the eyebrow. From here, you can start removing all the pieces of hair that is outside the white line. Tweezers are best used for this especially if you are doing the process for the first time. Those who are used to the method typically have more complicated procedures to achieve the shape they want. Note that shaping your eyebrows can be painful especially if you aren’t used to the sensation. Some individuals try to numb the area first by lightly placing ice over the eyebrows. This would allow them to easily pluck out the hairs without too much pain. It is important to keep in mind that the shape of the eyebrows must also be molded according to the type of face and eyes the individual has. As a rule of thumb however, the outer edges must always be higher than the inner edge. You can also browse around for the best shape of your eyebrows depending on the type of face shape you have.
